International Training at Perito Urology

Last month, Dr. Perito and the team at Perito Urology had the pleasure of hosting many talented urologists from across the globe for an International Training Event. Attendees included Dr. David Denis from Santiago, Chile, renowned urologist Dr. Bernardo Cisneros from Mexico City, and finally Dr. Charles Kaplan from Austell, GA.

The Learning Objectives for this week’s training event were reservoir placement techniques and post-operative implant patient care. Dr. Cisneros is one of the best urologists in Mexico and having a surgeon of his caliber at our training event was beneficial for everyone in attendance. We look forward to future training sessions with these great surgeons and all our training sessions down in Miami.

Five Abstracts Accepted for 2019 Sexual Medicine Society Conference

The team at Perito Urology is happy to announce that 5 out of their 5 abstracts submissions to this year’s SMSNA conference were accepted for presentation. Dr. Perito, alongside Drs. Brennan and Suarez-Sarmiento and their dedicated research efforts were able to yield fascinating results for all their submissions. All of our research efforts are focused on helping urologic community reach maximum patient satisfaction, as well as surgical efficacy and safety. Some of the biggest implanters in the world will be at this year’s conference in Nashville, TN, and the members of Perito Urology are ready to strap on their boots, and travel to the home of Country Music and partake in a great weekend of presenting and collaborating with the best in the industry. Dr. Perito Attends Colombian Urologic Conference

During the week of August 13-17, 2019, Dr. Perito had the extreme pleasure of traveling to Barranquilla, Colombia to partake in the LIV Congreso Curso Internacional de Urologia. The LIV conference is hosted by the Sociedad Colombiana de Urologia, and Dr. Perito was truly honored to be one of their keynote Speakers.

He gave 3 presentations updating the Urology community on the advances of penile prosthesis implementation. The first was an update on the future of Penile Cosmetics, tips and techniques for treating Peyronie’s disease, as well as an informative talk about common pitfalls and difficulties during IPP surgery.

Penile cosmetics is becoming a global phenomenon and being able to openly discuss the future of this industry on a global platform will further help its evolution. Dr. Perito has been collaborating with Colombian Urologists for years, and this week allowed him to meet so many new emerging physicians. The Perito Team was blown away by all the great presentations and Dr. Perito looks forward to attending several more of these wonderful conferences.

The Perito Urology Team visited Charleston, SC during the weekend of July 26, 2019 to partake in the Coloplast Men’s Health Surgical Skills Workshop. This year’s workshop was held at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Dr. Perito along with Dr. Sherita King and Dr. Tariq Hakky gave great presentations and demonstrations to the emerging urologists of today.

Perito Urology wants to thank Coloplast, the MUSC Residents and attending physicians as well as Dr. King’s residents from the Medical College of Georgia for attending and making this weekend as great as it was. These workshops are great places to meet future high volume implanters and learn a few things along the way.

The Aesthetics Show – Where Science meets Beauty! At this year’s Aesthetics show Dr. Perito
presented during the pre-show on July 11th and The Sexual Health and Aesthetics segment on
July 13th. Dr. Perito’s talks included “An overview of Male Genital Aesthetics” and “Penile
Rejuvenation: What’s Available vs. What Works.”

Dr. Perito Travels to Rome To Share Expertise on the Minimally Invasive Infrapubic Approach

The collaboration between Professors Gabriele Antonini and Paul Perito on the Minimally Invasive Infrapubic Technique is getting stronger. Over the course of the week, Dr. Perito presented his revolutionary technique to Urologists from Europe who specialize in Men’s Health at the 2nd Edition Pelvic Surgery and Urological Function Meeting where he sharing his knowledge on the surgical treatment of erectile dysfunction.  Six patients in Rome underwent the penile implant procedure using Dr. Perito’s Minimally Invasive Technique.  This novel technique adopted long ago by Dr. Antonini, has advanced the treatment of men with ED beyond response to pill and injection therapies.  The penile implant is used specifically but not limited to patients who have previously undergone surgery for prostate cancer, or those suffering from venous leaks related to diabetes and other predispositions to the breakdown of vascular structures which prevent them from having erections.  In just 15 minutes we are able to implant the three-component device, a quality of life changing procedure enjoyed more and more by men and couples around the world.

Dr. Paul Perito’s abstract, “Penile Cosmetics: An Institutional Study” was selected for a moderated poster presentation during the 24th Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health and the XII Congreso Nacional de Educación Sexual y Sexología in Mexico City, October 12–15, 2019.
