Dr. Perito, along with his research fellows, Dr. Alfredo Suarez-Sarmiento, Jr. and Dr. Matthew Brennan were pleased to announce that their submissions to the 2019 American Urological Association’s Annual Meeting were accepted. This year’s meeting will be in Chicago, IL, where they will present their research to an audience of urologists from around in the world.
Abstracts to be presented include “Glans Hypermobility Associated with Placement of a Penile Prosthesis: Incidence and Treatment Options,” with a podium presentation titled “Penile Prosthesis Implementation While on Anticoagulant Therapy: a Retrospective Study.”
This abstract may be the most important to patients in that findings support surgeons who perform penile implants on anti-coagulated patients who cannot stop their medication. Previously, some patients were required to wait up to two years before undergoing the elective procedure (The Perito Implant TM). The research team at Perito Urology is excited to share these findings with the urology community at large!
