In this week’s episode of Meet the Penis, Dr. Paul Perito answers two viewer questions, one about the usage of shockwave therapy in treating ED, and the other about the possibility of a remote-controlled penile implant.

Currently, there isn’t enough data to fully determine the efficacy and safety of shockwave therapy; in fact, overuse of the therapy has been known to cause penile scarring in the form of Peyronie’s Disease.

As to the development of an electronic penile implant (with or without being controlled by a mobile app), the current technology would render it prohibitively expensive.
