In the 28th episode of Meet the Penis, Dr. Perito answers a viewer submitted question: would an hourglass shape at the base of the penis as a result of a radical prostatectomy need to be corrected before penile implant surgery?
Dr. Perito explains that the “scratch technique,” often used for Peyronie’s Disease patients can be used to correct the shape of the penis by removing plaque in the tissue and creating a symmetrical and straighter penis. This can be accomplished by experienced urological surgeons in concert with the implantation of a penile implant.
